Duke Cloud Club

Our mission centers on catering to Duke graduate students enrolled in the Master in Interdisciplinary Data Science (MIDS) program, along with individuals from various fields who share a keen interest in data engineering and cloud innovations. Our primary aim is to offer a dedicated platform and a supportive community that empowers members to develop and showcase data engineering projects for their portfolios.

Being led and driven by students, our group places a strong emphasis on gaining insights into Cloud computing through the utilization of Microsoft Azure technologies. Notably, we are privileged to have Alfredo, a Microsoft Principal Cloud Advocate and Adjunct Professor at Duke, who maintains a direct connection with Azure. With his expertise, we can provide students with hands-on exposure to the latest technologies from Microsoft, enhancing their learning journey in the realm of Cloud computing.

In this club, our mission is to educate students about Microsoft Azure and its versatile array of applications. We delve into topics such as Cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cloud-native development. Through our exploration of Azure's capabilities, we aim to showcase how it can drive innovation and growth in businesses.

Moreover, the Duke Cloud Club provides an immersive learning experience through hands-on projects on the Azure cloud platform. These projects empower students to cultivate both technical skills and business acumen in this dynamic ecosystem. The proficiencies gained in this domain are highly sought after in today's job market.

As part of our offerings, we provide our members with complimentary Azure credits to facilitate research and project development on the Azure platform. By doing so, we enable our members to gain practical experience and expertise in this impactful technology, preparing them for the demands of the modern tech landscape.
