Duke Cloud Club

Our mission revolves around serving Duke graduate students enrolled in the Master in Interdisciplinary Data Science (MIDS) program, as well as individuals from diverse fields who share a fervent interest in data engineering and cloud technologies. Our primary objective is to establish a dedicated platform and a supportive community that empowers members to conceptualize and showcase data engineering projects for their portfolios.

Driven by students and led by a shared enthusiasm, our group places a strong emphasis on delving into the realm of Cloud computing through the utilization of Google Cloud technologies. Notably, we are honored to have Noah Gift as a significant contributor to our endeavors. Noah Gift is widely recognized as a prominent figure in the field of Cloud and Data Science. He is the founder of Pragmatic A.I. Labs and holds esteemed positions such as lecturer at MSDS at Northwestern, Duke MIDS Graduate Data Science Program, UC Berkeley Graduate Data Science program, and more.

Noah Gift is a Python Software Foundation Fellow and an influential figure in the industry. His expertise extends across various Cloud platforms, including Google Cloud, AWS, and Microsoft Azure. He has published extensively on subjects related to Cloud Machine Learning, DevOps, and Data Science, with his work featured in leading publications such as Forbes, IBM, O’Reilly, Microsoft, and more.

With Noah Gift's guidance and his extensive experience, we are able to provide students with firsthand exposure to the latest advancements in Cloud technologies, particularly within the Google Cloud ecosystem. Our group is committed to fostering an environment of learning, collaboration, and exploration, enabling members to expand their knowledge and expertise in the world of Cloud computing.

At the Duke Cloud Club, our mission centers around educating students about Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its diverse applications across various industries. We delve into topics such as Cloud computing, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and cloud-native development, providing a comprehensive understanding of GCP's capabilities.

Our primary goal is to highlight how GCP can drive innovation and transformation across businesses. By exploring its versatile features and services, we aim to showcase how GCP can be leveraged to accelerate growth and optimize operations.

Furthermore, the Duke Cloud Club offers a unique and immersive learning experience through hands-on projects on the GCP platform.
